The History Of Renting

The Onion, gives us a captivating story of Blockbuster’s cold hard look into the past. They show how the rental business used to require people to actually leave their homes and rent movies at a store. It’s so crazy to think how far we’ve come, and how the internet has really made a difference.

  • I can see hospitals buying up all kinds of these cute plush toys. What better way to tell someone they have Salmonella, than handing them a cute beanie baby like toy representing their disease.  ThinkGeek,  is selling plush toys that are cute manifestations of different microbes. They range from anything like red blood cells, to a toy representing Gonorrhea.  Here is a few examples of different microbe plush toys that are available:

    Brain Cell
    Malaria
    Mad Cow Disease
    Bad Breath - Halitosis

  • I swear they stole this idea from me. When I was little and watched my mom blend things, I was always wanting to put different stuff in to try. Of course my mom was a buzzkill and wouldn’t let me, and as a got older my passion for blending faded. After seeing this video though, I can almost feel that spark for blending I had all those years ago.

  • According to ThinkGeek, a horrible experiment went wrong. During the experiment certain particles collided, shooting off a “laser”, which hit a warehouse full of earbuds, making them grow 500x their normal size. Those crazy guys over at ThinkGeek are going to try and turn a profit from the mistake, and sell the giant earbuds to consumers. They are powered by 3 AAA batteries or an USB connection to your PC. They are $49.99, and can be purchased here.
