For those of us who can’t quite invest in home ownership, comes a clever way to save that much beloved space. The bed is such a room hog, taking up nearly a third of the room depending on the size. For apartment dwellers, this crafy new invention dubbed, “BedUp” might just be what you need to fit that Pac-Man arcade machine you’ve been wanting to install. French developers, Décadrages came up with the idea, and one visit to their site has me sold on the product (all text is in French, so can go by images only…unless you speak French). Some important information I was able to obtain is that it will cost around $4,500.  It’s a cool concept, but the people living in tiny spaces, probably aren’t going to have that kind of money just laying around to make this purchase.

Advertising To The Stars

No, I don’t mean stars like Leonardo DiCaprio or Scarlett Johansson. I mean the stars in outer space. Who would be bold enough to take it upon themselves to reach out to the places beyond our solar system?

Well Doritos, duh, is the company who is looking to be the first “official” company to advertise their product beyond Earth. Doritos is marketing the campaign as a contest as well. They will be giving $40,000 to whoever creates the best Doritos commercial for space; the competition is called “You Make It, We’ll Play It”.

Ursa Major will be the demographic, or star (sun) that Doritios will be trying to appeal to when it shoots it’s ad towards the planets surrounding the star. They will be using a EISCAT 500Mhz UHF Radar developed by Leicester University. Ursa Major is 42 light years away, and with the power of the radar, it will take around 42 years for the aliens to receive it.

It should be noted that the ad will also be shown on Earth as well. The launching of the ad will take place on June 12, so mark it down in your Star Trek calendars.
