For those of us who aren’t as musically inclined as others, we have to find creative to express ourselves musically. Randomly searching through YouTube, I came across a device that I’m going to have to find. It looks to be some kind of beat making machine, that uses metal ball bearings to create sounds. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find any kind of site where you can buy the machine. Enjoy the video though, and hopefully this will hit the market sometime.

Minority Report, was a huge blockbuster film back in 2002. While it had solid acting, and a good plot, it was the technology that really made it stand out. One the cool effects in the film, were the computers that they used. It was so graceful to watch, it looked as if none of the actors were touching the screens they were interacting with. This YouTube video makes it look as though we might not be too far from using this technology.

While the title makes the story sound really exciting, the truth is a little less grand. Don’t get me wrong, it’s amazing that we were able to take flight without the use of oil. But unfortunately it was the size of the plane, and the length of flight time that’s discouraging. Boeing was the company responsible behind the flight. Boeing optimistic that this flight will lead to greener means of flight in the future. The hydrogen powered plane was carrying two passengers (one piloting the aircraft).

Specs of The Hydrogen Powered Plane
Flight Speed - 62 mph
Flight Time- 45 minutes
Max Altitude - 1,000 feet
Wingspan - 51 feet
Weight - 1,760 lbs.
While none of these specs would be amazing on any other plane, Boeing is impressed that flight was a success. While the idea of hydrogen powered planes is way off in the distance for commercial use, Boeing believes it might have a place as a secondary power supply for airplanes. Let’s hope they can keep funding research while fuel costs keep going through the roof for airlines.

Now you see it, and now you don’t, is the idea behind the concert hall in Aurillac, France. What seems to look like a well designed concert hall during the day, turns into a “Lite Brite” looking spectacle at night. Designed by Brisac Gonzalez, who started on the project a few years ago, is finally able to see the fruitions of his labor. The hall can contain up to 4,500 people, and will be used for all kinds of events (concerts, trade shows, sporting events..etc).
Here is what the building looks like during the day, a seemingly original looking design, but nothing extraordinary:

And here is what the ordinary building turns into at night:
