This is the fastest elevator in the world.That’s because It shoots people up from the 5th floor to the 89th floor in a mere 37 seconds.That’s too fast.

It uses fancy-pants triple-stage anti-overshooting systems and high-tech emergency break systems to keep it safe, but that won’t make your stomach drop any faster once it starts off on its rocket flight. I’d say taking the stairs is a better idea, but walking up 84 flights of stairs isn’t anything I’d wish on anybody.

Be careful when you get a chance to visit the Taipei 101 building.

A Russian catelog called Robotronic.ru is already willing to take your money ($2,000) for a ROBOTIC SUITCASE named “Tony,” the catelog claims will go on sale in 2009. According to the site, you carry a card in your pocket, which tells the suitcase where you are. It will then use its robotic brain, internal gyroscope, light detectors and both sound and infrared sensors to follow you around without bumping into you or anything else. It can detect stairs, and won’t fall down. If someone steals it without also stealing the card in your pocket, an alarm sounds.

Looking at the modern design shown above don’t you think you should change your  old-fashioned fireplace.The French Arkiane company have  beautiful shaped modern fireplace using the ancient Egyptian pyramid design.

In case you’re wondering how it works without a chimney, the fireplace has four tubes hidden beneath it, which draw down smoke and evacuate it via a horizontal tube connected to a vertical chimney. The duct can be under your floor or under a platform that disguises the system. With the help of the innovative venting system, your fireplace can be placed anywhere in the room and at any height.
