Facebook can suck away life unlike anything you’ve ever done. Once you start adding friends, and downloading apps you’ll notice that a few hours have passed. Facebook has grown and matured since I first started enjoying the service back in college. If you’re looking for a better Facebook experience, here is a list of great Facebook Apps to keep you entertained.

5. Causes - For some people there’s nothing in the world better than fighting for something they believe in. Sometimes all that means is raising money, or sometimes it means getting a message across. Whatever the venue, Causes is a great way to get the issues out there to your Facebook friends.

4. Pokey - This Facebook App is almost too cute for its own good. But it’s puppies, and cute puppies always have to make their way onto a list. Even Facebook App lists.

3. BrewSocial - I generally hate being poked, or bitten, or anything useless coming from Facebook friends. Brewsocial gets a special pass though. If there’s one useless thing I don’t mind seeing on Facebook, it’s a virtual beer. If anything the app is great at helping people discover new beers to try. I know that since I’ve had BrewSocial I’ve tried an assortment of new beers.

2. TuneSocial - TuneSocial is much like what BrewSocial is, only with music. With this Facebook App you get to catalog your music collection. Then people can visit your profile and find out what you’re listening to. You can also use the app to recommend music to friends. I’ve used this Facebook App to discover new types of music, and find out about artists I’d never heard of in my life.

1. Wordscraper - Games can be very hit or miss on services like Facebook. Wordscraper is a definite hit, and good luck not getting addicted to it. This Facebok App has seen a very interesting history. The game has gone from being popular to being the reason for a lawsuit, to going back to popularity again. You’re missing out on a whole lot if you don’t give Wordscraper a chance.

I know that most of you probably have your own favorite Facebook Apps. I’d love to hear different ones that you like to use. Zombies, and their need to bite me need to stay away
