If you’ve used an Apple notebook for any extended length of time you might have felt the heat on your laps. Do you know how to measure your MacBook Pro temperature? In my research to reduce the heat from the Macbook Pro. I got some products that will help you to reduce the problem to a great extend.

Let me introduce to you the three different ways to reduce your MacBook Pro temperature?

CoreDuoTemp : It is a menu bar application that reads the temperature from the Intel CPU’s built-in sensor. The primary purpose of this sensor is to shut down or slow down the CPU if it is in danger of overheating. This sensor is rather simple and sometimes can be inaccurate.:(

Fan Control: It is a system preference that allows you to set an upper and lower temperature threshold for your MacBook Pro. The software then automatically alters the fan speeds to keep your MBP within the temperature range that you want.

smcFanControl: It is another application for controlling the MacBook Pro’s fans, and it now displays the temperature. Hint: click on the arrows next to the green temperature bar to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit.

Other Effective Ways to Keep it Cooled,

Use Cooling Pads: Use a USB fan cooler. These are plastic trays that have two or three fans built into them that help directly cool your Mac or PC laptop. Some come with batteries on-board while others suck its needed juice from your USB port. A couple of top end ones will actually power a computer with its own internal battery while others expand your USB with a built-in hub.

Lower Screen Brightness: You can considerably reduce the amount of heat produced by the notebook by reducing the screen brightness to minimum this also reduces the amount of power being used so your battery life will be longer if you are running on batteries.:)

Place a Stand: If you’re not into draining power from your already power hungry Mac, then you can consider a stand. Elevating the Mac to allow a flow of air under it will help keep things on the cooler side for sure.
